This Ramen Unari restaurants is part of the Ekimen Dori or Ekimen Street and this is the place you can taste all the regional ramen at one place. You can find other popular ramen like Ippudo, Hokutotei (Sapporo), Goryo (Hakodate), Kuramachi (Kitakita) and more.

This is one of the must visit places for ramen if you are at Nagoya Station. If you noticed, this Ekimen Dori is not for International tourists and hence you find many locals dining here.

Ramen Unari is a popular ramen restaurant in Fukuoka and they have five outlets there. Currently they only have one ramen restaurant in Nagoya which is at JR Gate Tower Gate Tower Plaza.

We ordered their popular Seafood Ramen and Tonkotsu Ramen and both of them looks the same. The difference is the broth as the seafood ramen used anchovies and seafood broth while the tonkotsu ramen use the pork broth.

The noodles are smooth and comes with really nice texture. It goes well with the flavourful broth (either seafood or pork) with burnt sliced pork char siew and heaps of sliced spring onion. The spring onion offers crunchy texture while the char siew is soft and delicious. The combination is beautiful local style ramen that you will come back for more.

After a day of traveling around Nagoya, this Ramen Unari is definitely what you need as their ramen is delicious and this is local comfort food that won’t burn a hole in your wallet.

Most of their ramen is priced below 1000 Yen so it is very affordable and hence the long queue in front of their restaurant. Remember this is at their old outlet and they have moved to a new restaurant at 12 Floor, JR Gate Tower Gate Tower Plaza.
