Like many Malaysian travellers, I am super excited to try the new KLIA Aerotrain as it is newly launched on 1st July 2025. Sadly, the new New KLIA Aero Train briefly breaks down today on 4th July 2025 due to heavy rain earlier at 11am as reported.
It is quite disappointing as many travellers wanted to check out the new Aerotrain. Even some of the airport staffs look disappointed with the faulty new aero train during the time of 1.22pm. I left the airport shortly.
I will try again to check out the new KLIA aero train when I return to Malaysia and hope everything is in order. This is the saddest news of the day, New KLIA Aero Train breaks down.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) today confirmed that the aerotrain service at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) was temporarily suspended due to water accumulation in the tunnel caused by heavy rainfall.
In a statement, MAHB said one of the drainage pumps experienced a technical fault during the downpour at 11am, preventing the automatic removal of water.
“The tunnel’s drainage system includes pumps designed to manage water ingress during severe weather conditions.
“As a safety precaution, train operations were suspended until the water was manually cleared and the tracks were confirmed safe for use.
“Service resumed at 12.15pm after clearance was obtained from the technical and safety teams,” the statement said.- NST
