Live Argentine Tango at Nonno Bachicha il Conventillo with Video, La Boca, Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA

I’ve heard so much about Argentine Tango before my trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I heard they tango by the street and its everywhere. Well, that is the truth.

I was there for almost 4-5 days in Buenos Aires. Street tango can be easily found at Florida Street and La Boca while the proper posh live tango is available at night, usually packaged with dinner. Prices varies depending on how popular is the place and the tango dancer.

Some restaurants might have live tango show to attract tourists and customers. Well, one of them is the Nonno Bachicha il Conventillo at La Boca neighbourhood of Buenos Aires.

I had lunch there with fellow friend Shakira while enjoying the live tango. To check out the tango, play the video below:

This is a common sight in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This beautiful dance is all over Argentina. Seeing they danced did really tempt me to learn at one point. It is not impossible but I prefer to stick with Salsa. Argentine Tango is too wild and sexy for me. It is a dance of the a story of the heavily cultured Argentina.

Thank you for reading.

  1. Saludos!
Just to be clear, the tango you see on the streets is “tourist tango,” or “Trampa para Turistas,” which is fine and fun, but nothing to do with the “real” tango of the real people of Buenos Aires. If you want to see social tango, you need to go to a “milonga,” or tango social dance. There the dancers dance for each other–not for an audience or tips. The steps are completely different, as is the music usually. It’s all improvised, about the close embrace, the music–no fancy show-off steps, backbends, and high kicks and lifts.

So don’t be put off wanting to learn to dance the tango because of what you see in tango shows or on the streets. The real tango of Buenos Aires is an amazing experience for the dancer, and it can change your life!

  2. I’m really loving the theme/design of your web site. Do you ever run into any browser compatibility problems? A couple of my blog visitors have complained about my website not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Opera. Do you have any recommendations to help fix this issue?

  3. I was suggested this blog by my cousin. I’m not sure whether this post is written by him as no one else know such detailed about my difficulty. You’re incredible! Thanks!

  5. I was there a week ago and the truth that you eat well, but the service leaves much to be desired, not good and also people who may be interested in sitting down and having a good time and it haunts it off no is referred to sow its own policy of the site that “provides a tip to his opinion,” a lack of respect for the tourists.
