Chicago Rib House Xmas Menu One Utama

It has been a while since I did a sponsored food review. Don’t worry I will be as honest as I can for this review. I am always a big fan of pork ribs and it is so hard to reject a Christmas menu for Chicago Rib House.

They have a few outlets in Malaysia; 1 Utama, Leisure Mall Cheras and Gurney Plaza Penang. I went to the 1 Utama’s outlet.

The menu is available from 20th Dec 2013 to 1st Jan 2014 so do book early to avoid  disappointment.

Chicago Rib House 4-course Christmas Menu is at RM79.90 only. You have choices on the drinks and also the main, let me walk through the options you can have for the set menu.

For drinks they have three festive drinks; colourful drinks!

Peach Bellini (alcoholic)

Christmas Berry Delight (non- alcoholic)

Mint Lemonade (non- alcoholic)

Out of those three colourful drinks, I find comfort for Peach Bellini. All of them are refreshing drinks but I just prefer the peach blended with peach juice and sparkling wine. It is not a strong alcoholic drink but you wouldn’t mind a second drink.

Crab and Cod Crostini on Avocado

Interesting how they make it with baguette. It comes with mixture crab and cod on top of avocado and grilled with parmesan cheese. I love the texture of this especially with the presence of avocado and remember to sprinkle it with a gist of lime for the extra flavour.

Pomegranate Salad

Recently, I read many articles promoting pomegranate for health benefits and what a great way to have it in a salad. I love how they created the salad with a combination of yellow zucchini toss, feta cheese and honey roasted pecan nuts. I enjoy the taste of feta cheese as well as the crunchy texture of the roasted pecan nuts. The pomegranate dressing is icing on the cake for this salad.

Roasted Whole Turkey Leg 

You need a turkey to celebrate Christmas and you can have the whole turkey leg! The marinated turkey leg and slow cooked and roasted with thyme serves with roasted vegetable and creamy mash potatoes, cranberry jelly and classic brown sauce.

Dry Rubbed Coffee Ribs

I’ve tried many different types of preparations of ribs but not with dry rubbed coffee. Well, if you are a coffee lover, you should order this. The ribs are baked to perfection before it is chargrilled and glazed with coffee sauce. You get hints of the coffee sauce but I prefer more!

Roasted Pork Belly Roulade

This is the best of the lot in my option. Many people say you can’t go wrong in cooking pork belly. Yes, that’s true but it is hard to make a spectacular meal with it though. Their version comes with rolled pork belly with sage infused apples, olives and chestnuts and serves with roasted vegetables, potato tartan, tangy sweet apple compote and red wine reduction. The meat is soft and tender and I love the combination of flavours for this. I wouldn’t mind a sinful second plate of this.

Pumpkin Tart

The dessert is an interesting one, pumpkin tart. Despite the thick filling of pumpkin with strawberry coulis topped with whipped cream and mint leaves, it is not as sweet as it looks. The taste is right and dessert must not be sweet all the times.
