Angry Birds Movie Family Day with McDonald’s
There is always a first time for everything. Last weekend, we finally bring big Zen for his first movie outing. We watched Angry Birds, the popular game turned to feature film thanks to McDonald’s & RMHC Malaysia.
The special thing about this special Angry Bird screening is we watched it with the children from the charity homes too. What a great initiative by McDonald’s & RMHC.
In fact, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC)has invited ten orphanages homes in KL (Kuala Lumpur) to enjoy this special screening and they are:
1.Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih
2.Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Damai Kuang
3.Pusat Jagaan Anak Yatim Nur Ikhlas
4.Teratak Nur Barakah
5.Pertubuhan Kebajikan & Bimbingan At-Taqwa
6.Rumah Joy ( House of Joy )
7.Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Rita
8.Lotus Charity Care Centre
9.Sanctuary Care Centre
10.Rumah Nur Syaheera KL
The Angry Birds screening was held at TGV One Utama on Sunday morning. Big Zen was pretty excited when he sees the life size Angry Birds. There were three of them, Red, Chuck and Bomb.
He played Angry Birds before so he can recognised the characters. It took him some time for him to play with the life size Angry Birds, hugging and high five with them.
Then, we went to meet the other children from the charity homes. Big Zen handshake with them and they loved him. Some pinched his face while some wants to play with him.
Next, there were also cheques of RM 5,000 presented to all the ten charity homes. It is a very kind gesture from McDonald’s & RMHC to these charity homes. The money will help the charity homes for their expenses and this is really noble from McDonald’s & RMHC.
Ronald McDonald also make the appearance to cheer up the kids. We took a family picture with him as our boy is a McNuggets lover.
Since this is his first time in the cinema, when the lights are off he sat quietly in his seat in the cinema. He is a very active boy but to see him sit tightly with the popcorn, we were really proud of him.
With one hand eating the popcorn, he watched the entire movie in the cinema. He sat quietly in his chair watching one of his favourite games, Angry Birds. We thought he would fell asleep but he did not.
The movie itself is better than we expected. We thought that the movie adaptation of a video game will be horrible instead it is entertaining and funny. To create the storyline with a bunch of target hitting birds are not easy but the movie pulled it off nicely. There are character buildings on the three main casts and the pigs are as it is, disgusting but yet funny.
There are a couple of really funny scenes in the movie and it is a great family movie. We are not sure whether our boy understand the movie but we enjoyed the experience watching the movie as family. The little Zen had to stay with nanny as he is too young to be in the cinema.
It was an awesome experience, if you have not watch Angry Birds, please do so you won’t regret it. Thank you Ronald McDonald House Charities for the great experience with the children and also for the movie screening.. We are sure the charity homes children had fun too. Not forgetting the comfortable seats of TGV Cinemas.
