Khaosoi House Chiang Rai International Airport
Well, this is another surprise find in Chiang Rai. There is a restaurant called Khaosoi House in Chiang Rai International Airport and they offer pretty good Pad Thai.
I discovered the restaurant late last year when I was invited to check out the Social Enterprise Programme by Singha Corporation in Singha Park Chiang Rai. It is a small restaurant in the airport serving local Thai cuisine.
Khaosoi is actually a type of Thai noodles which is very popular in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. It is fried noodle with curry and meat. We ate in one of the popular Khao soi restaurants in Chiang Mai and it is called Khao Soi Jamer (a hidden gem) and visited by ex-Thai Prime Minister Thaksin.
I didn’t order their Khaosoi but their Pad Thai. The set comes with a drink (with choices) for TB 195.
The Pad Thai comes with two large size river prawns. The taste is not the best I’ve taste but I love it. I will add some peanuts, some chili flakes and sometimes fish sauce for seasoning and not sugar though. Remember to squeeze the lime for hint of sour flavour.
So far I have visited the restaurant a few times and order their Pad Thai. At least this is a decent food in the airport and not fast food again.
