Musang King Durian Cheese Tart in Kajang
We love durians like how Singaporeans like salted egg. On the latest Japanese baked cheese tart craze in Malaysia, we found a bakery in Kajang actually makes it more special, with musang king durian.
We blogged about this bakery two months ago and it was packed with long queue. Now, it is still busy but not as packed as it is used to be. Happy Happy Bread Bakery has been around in Kajang for years before they moved to this outlet.
We went back again as we craved for their musang king durian cheese tart. We did mention in our previous blogpost that the crust is too soft for their durian cheese tart and they have improved.
Remember there are two sessions for baked cheese and durian cheese tarts.
12pm – 2pm and 6 pm to 8 pm.
So for baked cheese tarts, they are selling at RM 20 for six pieces which is one of the cheapest in the market. For their musang king durian cheese tarts, the price remains the same which is RM 25 for a box of six tarts. The owner told us they only use Musang King durian for their durian cheese tart and not D24 or D101. He assured us that you will love it at the first bite.
How is the taste of the Musang King Durian Cheese Tart?
It has definitely improved from the last time we had it. The crust is slightly tougher and ‘stronger’ now as the durian cheese filling is heavier than the usual baked cheese tart. For the taste, you can find a balance of the strong musang king durian flesh taste and the after taste cheese taste. For RM 25 for a box of six, this is definitely a steal! We bought a few boxes again and that’s why I have increased a few kilos since my diet. This is definitely sinful and worth a trip to Kajang!
