ST Restaurant Taman Bukit Hijau Cheras Sun Tuck Cuisine

The last time we had Sun Tuck or Shunde cuisine was in Youmiqi in Old Klang Road. Shunde is a district in Foshan, Guangdong China. Their cuisine is slightly different than the usual Cantonese cuisine. Our first taste of Shunde cuisine was in Hong Kong in Fung Shing Restaurant (鳳城酒家) Nathan Road. We love the uniqueness and variety of Shunde cuisine. The surprise is to find a Shunde restaurant in Cheras. ST Restaurant has not been blogged or featured in any other websites and it is packed during weekends. St Restaurant is also called 順德名菜 in Chinese.

Yesterday, we went to the restaurant and it was packed. There were no tables available inside and we have to sit outside. Booking is required to reserve the better tables inside the restaurant. We ordered some of their signature dishes as recommended by the waitress.

Since we don’t understand their Chinese menu, we just named the dishes on our own. =)

We ordered this so our boys can have it with rice. This is quite unique as the texture is soft and tender and the taste is good. You get the taste of tofu skin and fish together and the kids loved it.

We don’t think this is Shunde cuisine and the stir fried green dragon vegetables taste good. They didn’t over cook it and it goes well with the rice.

Pork face and that is how they called it in Chinese. The pork is crispy and tender and it was lightly stir fried with chopped chilli, pepper and salt. This is a must order and the taste is simply addictive.

This is a Shunde dish as there is a similar version at Youmiqi. This is a more budget version only with fish and ‘siew yoke’ (roasted pork belly). What’s interesting with this claypot is there are sliced papayas, yam and other ingredients. Once it is hot, the soup is tasting and refreshing in a way. We ordered tilapia fish and it was huge. The pot was only RM 72 and it is very reasonable. The kids love the soup and the fish was cooked to perfection. The fish was fresh and tasty.

We loved the food here and will come back for more other Shunde cuisine. It is better to book your table in advance or else you have to wait for a table. Contact, GPS coordinate and address is at below.
