Hoi Peng Seafood Restaurant SS2 Petaling Jaya
There are a few places for crabs in Petaling Jaya and Hoi Peng Seafood Restaurant in SS2 is one of them. It was a weekend and we have to book our table in advance. If you plan to walk in for dinner during weekends, you probably need to wait for a while.
It wasn’t a lucky day for us and the restaurant ran out of crabs. It was one of the days that they have limited stock of crabs. However, they do have other seafood to order.
Their Signature Stir Fried Prawn with Special Sauce is one of the must order. The thick sauce is savoury and it goes well with the fresh prawns. The shell is crispy and the meat is tender. A plate of this is never enough.
Their version of Ginger and Chinese Wine Lala (clam) will make you go ‘la la’. We love the hints of Chinese wine and hints of spiciness of this. This version of ‘la la’ goes well with rice.
Their version of salted egg squid is lightly battered and coated with salted egg. This is deep fried to perfection and it is tasty and delicious. We should have order the large size of this. If you are a big fan of salted egg squid, you should order this.
Deep Fried Chicken Wing
If you see each and every table ordered the deep fried chicken wing, it must be good. Even though by the look of it, it looks ordinary but in actual fact this is really tasty. The skin is crispy and the texture of the meat is tender and juicy.
Overall, the food at Hoi Peng Seafood Restaurant in SS2 is very good. The sad note is we didn’t have the crab. For the pricing, it is reasonable for us (maybe most of our dishes are in small size). The bill came up to around RM 160++. We will definitely come back again for their crabs. Remember to book your table to avoid disappointment.
