AirAsia Set to Fly to Okinawa Japan

AirAsia Set to Fly to Okinawa Japan? According to RoutesOnline, AirAsia X will fly to Okinawa in the first quarter of 2020. However, it won’t be a direct flight as it will be Kuala Lumpur – Taipei – Okinawa.

Based on the airline’s schedule listing, the airline plans to operate 4 weekly flights from 22JAN20.

Planned operational schedule and launch date remains subject to change. 

The AirAsia X route from Taipei to Okinawa is approved by Mavcom Malaysia in June and listed in their website. It speculated the flight commence from 22 January 2020 but nothing is confirmed until official words from AirAsia.

This is not a direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Okinawa Japan. Transiting in Taipei means they can offer Taiwanese to visit Okinawa Japan from Taipei and this will not dependent on Malaysian travellers. We feel this is a safe strategy by AirAsia X as Taiwanese in general loves Okinawa and Malaysians can transit in Taiwan for a few days.

If this is real, everyone can fly to Okinawa Japan. Looks like this could be our next destination in Japan for 2020.
