Malaysia Airlines Rescheduling Narita Tokyo A380 flights

Just a few hours ago, Malaysia Airlines posted a statement on their Facebook Page in rescheduling their flights to and from Narita Tokyo flights from 19 Dec to 21 Dec due to technical issues with the A380 aircraft. The affected flights will be rescheduled and serviced by the A330-300. The following is the official statement from their official Facebook Page.

Due to technical issues involving its A380 aircraft, Malaysia Airlines will be retiming the following flights:

MH88/19 Dec Kuala Lumpur to Narita, Tokyo
MH89/20 Dec Narita, Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur
MH88/20 Dec Kuala Lumpur to Narita, Tokyo
MH89/21 Dec Narita, Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur

The new flight timings are as follows. These flights will be serviced by the A330-300:

MH88D/21Dec Kuala Lumpur to Narita, Tokyo departs at 0900 and arrives at 1640

MH89D/21 Dec Narita, Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur departs at 2130 and arrives at 0425

MH88S/21Dec Kuala Lumpur to Narita, Tokyo departs at 2335 arrives at 0715

MH89S/22 Dec Narita, Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur departs at 1010 arrives at 1705

To support high passenger movement due to the service disruption, Malaysia Airlines will also be mounting additional flights on the following routes:

MH7212/21 Dec Kuala Lumpur – *Kota Kinabalu – Narita, Tokyo

Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu departs at 2355 and arrives at 0235 (22Dec)

Kota Kinabalu to Narita, Tokyo departs at 0310 and arrives at 0940 (local time)


MH7213/22Dec Narita, Tokyo – *Kota Kinabalu – Kuala Lumpur

Narita, Tokyo to Kota Kinabalu departs at 1040 and arrives at 1610 (local time)

Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur departs at 1710 and arrives at 1940 (local time)

*the aircraft will be making a technical stop (refuelling) in Kota Kinabalu

The above flights operated by the B737-800 will run daily between 21 until 24 December 2019.

The affected passengers have the option of deferring their travel dates or to be reallocated on other carriers subject to seat availability.
