In June 2017, we were excited as Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) opened in Perak and it is one of the ‘International Theme Parks’ in Malaysia. This is Asia’s First Animation Theme Park and second International Theme Park to open in Malaysia after LEGOLand Malaysia. Starting today, MAPS Perak is closed until further notice as reported by BERNAMA.
The Movie Animation Park Studios MAPS Perak cost around RM 520 million and the closure notice was issued by the Receiver and Manager of Animation Theme Park Sdn Bhd (ATP) from Messrs Ernst & Young.
Any inconvenience caused by the closure of MAPS is regrettable, said the notice.
Last year, local media reported that Affin Investment had appointed Datuk Duar Tuan Kiat of Messrs Ernst & Young on Dec 4 as the receiver and manager of property belonging to ATP which is the operator of MAPS.
For those who plans to visit Movie Animation Park Studios MAPS Perak, please take note they are closed until further notice. Their official website http://www.mapsperak.com is also down at the moment.
