This is probably the new kids in the block and they have been around in Kajang town for the couple of years. We heard about this Restoran Putera Kajang Satay mostly from friends and readers. There are many rumors connecting this restaurant and Restoran Malaysia Nyok Lan that closed down in 2017.

A phantom reader messaged us when we posted the story of Restoran Malaysia Nyok Lan closing down back in 2017. We were told that Restoran Putera took over Restoran Malaysia Ngok Lan while some readers said it was not the case.

Moving forward to MCO, my sister bought satay from Restoran Putera Kajang Satay for the family and the satay was dry and tough. To be honest, that was a very bad first impression.

Then, my parents went to Restoran Putera Kajang Satay last year and complaint about their bad service and bad behavior.

However, some of our friends told us that service was manageable but the food is good. Moving forward to 2023, we decided to visit Restoran Putera Kajang Satay. They are located at 26 & 27, Jalan Mendaling, Bandar Kajang and it is stone throw away from the Kajang Stadium MRT station.

You have to order at the back of the restaurant. You order and pay, they will send the food to you.

To be honest, we were impressed by the colourful and beautiful interior. We sat outdoor as it was not that warm that day. However, there were presents of small ants here and there though.

They offered four different types of satay and they are chicken satay, beef satay, lamb satay and fish satay.

The satay gravy or satay ‘kuah’ is thick and comes with generous amount of peanuts. We love the taste as it is not too spicy. You can always add sambal to make it spicier depending on your taste palate.

Their chicken satay is lean as they don’t use chicken skin but they uses chicken thigh. It is not dry and tough and the taste is not too bad. Personally, we love chicken satay with the skin as it adds a bit more flavor and calories.

The beef satay is tasty as they uses beef tenderloin. The texture is right and we love this but it is slightly pricier.

The lamb satay is better than expected. They use Australian mutton leg and the taste is really good. That is the reason why it is so pricey but it is worth it.

The fish satay is a surprise. It is thicker in size and this is better than the fish satay from Restoran Malaysia. They uses ‘deep fish meat’ and you can easily tell from the texture and taste.

Overall, we saw improvement with the taste of the satay at Restoran Putera Kajang Satay. It is definitely better than the satay we had two years ago. We had no issue with the service and attitude of the people here. If you want to try tasty lamb satay and fish satay, you can visit Restoran Putera Kajang Satay.
