Bali is an island in Indonesia and many mistaken Bali as a country especially tourists from the West. Bali is a popular for its resorts, beaches, nature, food as well as its hospitality. It is a hot spot for Australians and also many Asians. There is a surge of Chinese tourists in this few years to this peaceful island.
We visited the island twice and in fact we spent our honeymoon there. After more than 10 days and two visits, we still have not fully venture the island. We highly rate Bali as one of our top destinations for best traveling experiences.
Hence, we have compiled the things to do in Bali in this post and we will keep on adding it in the future. We hope this can help you to plan for your trip to Bali.
There are many fun activities to do in Bali, one of them is white water rafting. There are a few places to choose where to do the white water rafting and we chose White Water Rafting @ Telaga Waja River, Bali. It was an unique experience as we got to enjoy the scenery of the highlands of Bali and on top of that the tour guides were very professional.
Take a time machine and back to 700 years ago. This UNESCO Heritage List site, Goa Gajah or Elephant Cave is one of the places you might not want to miss. It was a beautiful bathing area which was used by the great king from the past. The structure and the sculptures here were simply amazing.
Temple @ Tanah Lot, BALI is a small island of the coast of Tabanan. You can walk to the island during low tide and received blessing from the priests there. The sunset view here was simply breathtaking.

One of the most popular towns in Bali is Kuta town. During peak season, thousands of tourists will flock to this town and one of the highlights of Kuta is the Beautiful Kuta Beach. This same beach is also featured in series like Bondi Rescue Bali Edition.

It is one of the most expensive area in Bali. Many five star hotels and resorts occupied the stretch of this beach.

Tegalalang Terrace Paddy Field: The Famous Rice Terrace of Bali. Many would sit in one of the cafes in Tegalalang and enjoyed the beautiful rice terraces. This is near the famous town of Ubud.
KU DE TA: The Most Happening and Exclusive Club in Bali. If you are looking a club with amazing ambience and popular club music, you must visit this club, Ku De Ta. Ku De Ta is located in Seminyak, next to Kuta town.
Klapa Beach Club, BALI is located at Klapa Beach near Dreamland. It is an ideal place for sunset view and also a great place with great music.

Watersports is a popular activities in Bali. There are many types of watersports available in Bali particularly in Nusa Dua. We went to the Honeymoon Beach Club in Nusa Dua thanks to the recommendation from our tour guide.
One of the most beautiful lakes I’ve seen in some time. It is a crater lake of Mount Batur, an active volcano in Bali. This lake can be viewed from Kintamani together with Mount Batur.

One of the must visit attractions in Ubud, center of Bali. It is called the Tirta Empul Temple or Water Spring Temple. It had beautiful architecture and you can see locals bathing in the water spring pool.
Amazing “Bebek” @ Bebek Tepi Sawah Restaurant, Bali is a popular restaurant in Bali that specializes in serving “dirty duck”. “Dirty Duck” is a actually crispy deep fried duck which is an authentic Balinese food. They also serve other Balinese food and the restaurant has an amazing view by the padi field.
Beras Merah Waroeng & Bar @ Kuta, BALI is not of those popular restaurants in Kuta but we chose to dine there on Nyepi’s eve. Due to the Nyepi celebration, most of the restaurants were closed and our choices were limited. We dine there for dinner for authentic Balinese food.
B Couple Bar N’ Grill @ Kuta, BALI offers grilled seafood and Chinese cuisine and it is located at the main stretch of Kuta town. They also offer live band music in their restaurant. There is nothing fancy about this restaurant but a short review of it.

Sunset beach side dinner is a norm in Jimbaran. On our first visit to Jimbaran, we visited Dewata Cafe, Jimbaran, BALI. We managed to talk our way for a great deal on our seafood prices. We had a feast of fresh seafood and it was unforgettable.

Have you tried the Most Expensive Coffee in the World? It is called the Luwak coffee or also known as the “weasel coffee”. Check our experience of having the most expensive cofffee in the world in Bali. It is one of the most unique coffee in the world.
One of the must try food in Bali is their Babi Guling. Babi Guling is the Balinese version of suckling pig. The recommended place for this is the Warung Babi Guling Ibu Roka. Crispy fried skin with tender meat underneath and it is complimented with side dishes, babi guling lives up to its reputation.
There are hundreds of hotels, resorts and villas to choose in Bali. Picking the right place was a massive headache. As recommended by Lonely Planet, we chose Ellie’s Hotel at Nusa Dua, Bali. This hotel is a small boutique hotel runs by expats. It is not near the Nusa Dua beach but it is near the main roads of Nusa Dua. Imagine staying in an actual Balinese house and it was peaceful and quiet. If you like something different, this might be the one.

This was our first time staying in Kuta and we booked Febri’s Hotel & Spa, Kuta online. This is a boutique hotel with a large swimming pool and not one of those fancy five star hotel.

Dreamland is one of the newest area in Bali and there are quite a number of resorts there. Dreamland Luxury Villa and Spa, BALI is one of the top luxury villas there and we enjoyed ourselves there.
